The Colony also ranked No. 10 on Money’s list of “Where Homes are Affordable.” With a median home price of $135,863, the city enjoys a wealth of housing options, from one-bedroom apartments to lakeside mansions. The Colony is located inside both the Lewisville Independent School District and the Little Elm Independent School District. The Lewisville ISD has built six elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school inside the city limits. The Little Elm ISD is currently building a K-8 Stem Academy in The Tribute subdivision with a focus on teaching science, technology, engineering and mathematics to meet demand for the technology dependent society of today and tomorrow.
